Pets
Rockatiel (Vanity Pet)
These small birds are primarily known for one thing, their love of music!
They are a domestic species, commonly owned by lovers of music, musicians, and the otherwise musically inclined.
They love to sing and dance, especially along with their owners!
The colors and patterns of their feathers are determined by the music they were surrounded by as a chick.
It's uncertain how this aspect of them functions... but it does lead to some very interesting patterning!
Gargoia (Vanity Pet)
Gargoia are an artificially created creatures created from stone.
They can come in any shape and size, but are typically quadruped.
They are somewhat hard to create, as they must be fully sculpted from stone before they can be animated.
Like other constructed creatures, they require magic to sustain themselves, however unlike other constructs that require a Tatsukoi's input to remain active, gargoia can absorb magic from around them passively. In order to do this they must remain inactive for a portion of the day, however.
Gargoia are very loyal to their masters and great at following commands, making them very popular as guards and even as service animals!
Kampus (Vanity Pet)
These large but graceful creatures are commonly used to pull boats and other watercrafts across the lakes and streams found throughout the falls.
Kampus are quite docile creatures, but can be easily spooked, causing them to act erratically. Due to this, they require extensive training in order to be able to pull vehicles with care.
There are many species of Kampus that can be found throughout the falls, some of which are designer breeds.
One such designer breed is the Royal Kampus. This breed is only handed out by the royal families of Dawntide and Duskmoor, oftentimes as a gift to those who assist the families, or occasionally as a prize for a Kampus race or show. Kampus racing and shows are very popular in Elysium, causing many racers and breeders to flock to the layer.
Kampus are around the size of a horse, typically being on the larger side. There are smaller breeds though that are around the size of a pony!
Carrier Worgi (Vanity Pet)
A breed of domesticated worg.
These small canines are often seen by the sides of mailmen, diligently carrying and distributing letters.
They are quite small, and have very stumpy little legs, but have tons of energy.
New Chapter (Vanity Pet)
An ordinary book accidentally given life by a Tatsukoi mage in a moment of joy.
The new chapter follows their creator earnestly, eagerly awaiting to see the next joyous moment of their life.
Procyonia (Vanity Pet)
Procyonia are small, cat-sized creatures that reside on the third layer. They mostly make their homes in the forests, however many can also be found within the cities of the layer.
Their fur is quite thick and is often adorned with small plants and flowers. Researchers of these small creatures believe they do this as a form of camouflage or perhaps as a way to attract a mate.
Nokochi (Vanity Pet)
Nokochi are small fat snake-like creatures that make their burrows in the soil of layer two. They are hostile to almost all other creatures, but a small few have been domesticated. All nokochi kept as pets descended from these domesticated few. Domesticated nokochi are not as hostile as their wild counterparts, but they are quite sassy.
Anonymon (Vanity Pet)
Anonymon are forest spirits born of the thoughts and feelings of lost travelers. They are commonly only seen by those that have found themselves lost, the anonymon will guide the traveler to where they are trying to go.
It is rare, but sometimes the anonymon will form a bond with the traveler, and stick with them even once the traveler has made it out of the forest.
Adventurous Hauntlet (Vanity Pet)
This brave little hauntlet seems to be ready to start it's journey! It's appearance seems very inspired...
This pet was a gift for members who joined at the site's launch!
Choreling (Vanity Pet)
These small magical creatures do not naturally appear in nature. They are an entirely artificial species created nearly a hundred years ago by a wizard enrolled in Aurelion's academy. Chorelings were originally created for a school project by this wizard, but they were such a success that they became widespread throughout the falls.
Chorelings can be summoned as familiars and are most often summoned by business owners and caretakers. This is because chorelings were made to excel at small tasks and enjoy being helpful. After a while, the choreling's appearance will begin to shift to match that of their work as well.
Tide Wyvet (Vanity Pet)
Tide wyvets, also known as lesser sea wyverns, are small winged creatures often found in tidepools.
They lay on the surface of the water, and wait for their prey to swim under them before striking.
Their undersides are always lightly colored to help them blend into the water they float on.
Despite their name, tide wyvets are actually not a species of wyvern at all, and are instead a type of "false dragon".
They are very closely related to Noxwyrms!
Snow Angel (Vanity Pet)
A sprite born from the ever jubilant Midwinter Festivals.
They can be heard softly singing distantly throughout the festival, but are almost never seen.
Snow angels will only reveal themselves to young children or those who have embodied the spirit of the season.
This pet is a reward for the prompt "A Heart's Desire" from the Midwinter Wishes (Midwinter 2024) event!
Miniature Kymakorn (Vanity Pet)
This breed of kymakorn are common on small farms, as they don't require as much space as their larger counterparts.
Some do also keep them as pets, though.
Hoarding Mouse (Vanity Pet)
This species of mouse is quite common in the fourth layer of the falls.
They are very drawn to shiny objects, particularly gemstones, and will often hoard them in their nests.
Hauntlet (Vanity Pet)
These artificial creatures are born from an excess of wisps merging with fabrics and/or plush toys.
Hauntlets often have an unsettling appearance (they are born from the remaining magic of a deceased creature after all) but are generally quite innocent creatures.
They are easily startled and act somewhat childish.
Hauntlets can also be manually created by a magic user. They can be used as familiars, though they are an uncommon choice.
Crystalline Stalker (Vanity Pet)
A Cascade Stalker that seems to have developed a harder, crystalline exterior to protect itself against the harsh winds of the fifth layer.
