Ridge Root or Pango-root as it is sometimes called is a textured root-vegetable that grows wildly or can be produced in personal gardens/farms. Its uniquely hard and textured outer layers provide it protection from any herbivores and keep it firmly rooted in the ground as it grows to maturity. Once fully grown, the edges soften and round off making it slightly easier to pull from the soil. Still, strong tatsukoi are needed to heft these out. Its purposes are used for cooking or medicinal properties when ground. It has a pungent smell (similar to onions) and can be cooked with other things to add lots of flavor.
